Our story
AJAR Society is founded by the people behind The Asli Co., a social enterprise that empowers indigenous mothers to earn a sustainable living to support their families and children's education. Currently, The Asli Co. works with over 63 mothers across 8 Orang Asli villages in Selangor, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, and Pahang, Malaysia.
However, empowering the mothers alone is insufficient to ensure the children complete school. Many Orang Asli children struggle with subjects such as English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mathematics, and Science without additional tutoring help.
That's where AJAR Society comes in. It was established in December 2022 to help students improve their reading and writing skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Classes are held every weekend, and we launched our first tutoring class in Kampung Serendah on March 19, 2023.
We are proud to have passionate teachers within the community who are dedicated to helping students succeed.
